A long, thin pepper that can grow up to 15 centimetres in length, sweet banana peppers are bright yellow in colour. They can be slightly spicy, similar to chilli, and have thick walls. Peppers turn from yellow to orange to red as they ripen. They taste fantastic when filled with goat cheese, garlic, and rosemary and then lightly oiled. It is preferable to seed with heat early and grow in a greenhouse or polytunnel to ensure a strong crop. It can be cultivated outside, but because the crop requires a lot of warmth, the number and size of the crops may be reduced, and less will fully ripen.
