Ezcef 200mg Tablet contains Cefixime USP, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. This broad-spectrum medication effectively treats various bacterial infections including respiratory, urinary tract, ear, throat, and sexually transmitted infections. Uses Ezcef 200mg treats bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary system, ear, nose, throat, and genital areas. It’s effective against bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, and typhoid fever. Ezcef is prescribed when bacteria are confirmed or strongly suspected as the infection cause. Benefits Provides broad-spectrum antibacterial coverage Effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria Convenient once or twice daily dosing Well-absorbed orally with good bioavailability Treats multiple types of bacterial infections Achieves high tissue and fluid concentrations Generally well-tolerated with fewer side effects Suitable for outpatient treatment Effective against beta-lactamase producing organisms How It Works Ezcef works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cefixime binds to penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cell walls, preventing peptidoglycan cross-linking essential for cell wall integrity. This leads to bacterial cell lysis and death, effectively eliminating the infection.
