I’m on the front porch after an evening of mowing, and lit the 1964 Exclusivo as I waited for news on the arrival of granddaughter #7. The cold draw had notes of sweet cedar. First light was toasted marshmallow, always a treat. The first third was earthy and sweet, and the RH left some good pepper in my nose. The second third transitioned to mellow cedar with more creamy smoke and a balanced sweetness. The RH had no pepper, instead had me thinking dried fruit…apricot. The final third had less of a transition, to a nice mellow cedar, even in the RH. Immaculate burn. Padron remains solidly in my top overall brands. Ollie joined the world, 6 pounds, 4 ounces.
